Excited about the re-release of his cult black comedy "Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro" after 30 years, director Kundan Shah describes it as a historic moment and adds that he has a tentative script for the sequel, but nothing is confirmed yet.

Kundan Shah told, "I am so glad that the film is re-releasing. We made the film on such a small budget and the film did so well. It's a great feeling."

The best part was that "the film had no songs, no item numbers, heroine had a negative role and despite that it connected well with the audience, " he added.

The black comedy is coming out Nov 2 and Shah said: "For me, re-release of 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro' is a historic moment. It's a big achievement. It's been 30 years the film was made and now the film is re-releasing."

PVR Director's Rare in association with NFDC (National Film Development Corporation) will release the digitally restored version of "Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro" pan-India exclusively at PVR Cinemas only.

It revolves around two simple and honest photographers, essayed by Naseeruddin Shah and Ravi Vaswani, who witness a murder and get dragged into the corrupt real estate circle where politicians and bureaucrats work hand in gloves. Through the protagonist, the film unearths the corruption in the system.

Making "Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro" in 1983 was a thorny ride for the director.

"Way back when I made the film in 1983, things were very different. We had a hard time directing the film. But now I see things have changed and it has become even harder to direct a film, " he said.

The news of "Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro" sequel is making rounds in the B-town, but the filmmaker said: "It's a tentative script which is ready. Writing a script is a different thing and directing it is a different thing.

"Just the script is ready, now it all depends. I have not approached anyone for the story as we first need a producer. It's a very different script."
