Superstar Mohanlal and a team of Malayalam film artistes will hold several shows in Britain to raise funds for children in Kerala suffering from HIV/AIDS.

The shows to be held in June and September are being organised by London-based Keralites T. Haridas and G. Sasankan.

"A charity show will be directed by award winning film director T.K. Rajiv Kumar and a musical night by music director M. Jayachandran. The first show will be held at Manchester on June 24 and the musical evening at East Ham on June 26," Haridas told reporters here Wednesday.

"Dates for the second leg of shows in September are being finalised."

Apart from Mohanlal, the other stars who will take part in the shows are Jayaram, Innocent, Siddiq and several leading lights of the Malayalam film industry.

"The main aim of the shows is to create a permanent fund that will take care of all the needs of children in Kerala who are affected by AIDS. We are confident that Indians based in London support the show for this noble cause," said Sasankan.
