Before performing at the city's commercial hub Sector 17 Plaza, a visibly happy Abhijeet said he had dreamt of making it big in the world of music and the release of his album was the first step in that direction.
Abhijeet - who hails from Mumbai - attained stardom overnight after being voted the first Indian Idol by TV audiences across India in Sony TV's popular show by the same name.
He bagged a Rs.10 million prize from Sony TV besides a Honda City luxury car and the offer of cutting a music album.
"I have got offers for playback singing from others also," he told reporters here.
Abhijeet said the other 10 finalists who had got into the final round of the popular show were also doing well with most of them offered singing contracts.
He said he would like to concentrate on his dancing skills to further his singing career.
The 24-year-old said he was also open to Bollywood offers provided they suited his natural acting skills.
