"I not much into love stories but it seems that love stories work for me the most, " added Khan.
He was accompanied by the two lead actresses of JTHJ, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma to charm the fans in Kolkata.
"I play the role of an army officer and bomb disposal guy in the film. It is for the first time such a character of bomb disposal guy has been created. I play a guy who is unforgettable, angry and deeply in love" said Khan.
"We are not playing aliens in JTHJ. It is a beautiful love story to watch. It is actually a classic love story, with inner obstacles to overcome, that makes you feel purely in love no matter whichever age you are in, embedded in modern language."
"You can somewhat relate JTHJ to 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', which was a pure love story but it is quite different from 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' or 'Veer Zaara', where exterior forces provided the obstacles in the story, " clarified Khan.
Gushed Anushka, "I was actually chasing Shah Rukh in the whole film."
Recalling his courtship with the late director Yash Chopra, he remarked, "I have worked with him for 20 years and I have a wide range of memories from sitting and chatting together about nature, love to even women."
Katrina added, "After watching Veer Zaara, I wished to be a part of Yash Raj Films. For me, the most memorable moment was during our shoot in Ladakh, where I spotted Yashji (Yash Chopra) one fine morning standing jubilantly behind the camera like a youth."
Speaking about his co-stars, SRK commented, "I am a bomb disposal guy handling two 'bombs' in the film! They are incredible actors and these ladies make me feel elegant, loved and handsome."
Shah Rukh Khan, the king of romance, doesn't feel that love triangle only works for him.
"I don't want to objectify women. I feel be it one lady or two, story-telling is the most important aspect to work for any film, " he said.
Khan, who is romancing both the ladies on JTHJ, also confessed, "I have never romanced two ladies off-screen. And if my son ever does I'll say, please teach me how to do. But on a serious note, I'd advise be it two women or twenty, just be kind to them, as women tend to believe in men."
Reacting to the recent controversies regarding the tussle between 'Son Of Sardar' and JTHJ, the superstar said, " I wish both the films do well. Sometimes some statements get misconstrued, but I hope God bless both films."
Commenting on the the present scenario of investments in Bengal, he remarked, " Investment is important. Bengal is an intellectual centre of our country with so much talent, but when it gets excess, it is hard to control and things often get violent."
"Didi (Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee) is an able leader and being a lady, the work she does, is highly commendable. As a brand ambassador of Bengal, I think we should all work together, "he added.
SRK, who is also a part the the inauguration ceremony of the Kolkata International Film Festival commented, "Being a brand ambassador, I am looking forward to welcome Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) and Mithunda (Mithun Chakraborty) this year, as I am a part of the organisation now."
The film releases on Nov 13 but the theatres are already houseful with advanced bookings.
"I hope they remain same for the coming weeks as well, " gushed Khan.
Anushka added, "If you have something to do with love, it is good enough reason to watch the film."
