Diwali is turning out to be a frenetic one for Anushka Sharma. The leggy lass has been travelling all over the country to promote her film. But she's content with the fact that she'll be getting to spend some time with her family on the festive day. `I think I will end up working on Diwali. But I am very excited about my film and want it to be a huge success, ` she says.
So, what are her plans for the festival? `Diwali has always meant spending time with family. My mother will do the traditional Lakshmi Pooja at home. We will decorate the house with lights and diyas. In fact, she's been single-handedly preparing for the festival.
She always buys a bit of gold on Dhanteras and clothes and sweets for our staff and their families. I haven't shopped as such but will wear a new sari or salwar kameez.`
With Diwali being the festival of indulgence, how will Anushka manage to stick to her diet? `I am blessed with a wonderful metabolism. I don't put on weight even if I eat the richest of delicacies. I love besan and motichur ka ladoo and cham cham.`
On an emotional note, Ansuhka also reveals how she used to wait for her dad to come home every Diwali when she was a kid.
`I grew up in Bangalore. Dad was in the army and would be away from home for months. For me, the best Diwalis was when dad was home. I have always been daddy's little girl. And when he was home I never used to leave him even for a minute.`
Further, she says that she loves Diwali celebrations in Mumbai. `I love seeing lights all around me. Mumbai looks like a lovely bride during Diwali. And it's great to see people finally taking time off from their hectic lives in this fast-paced city to enjoy some time with dear ones.`
