Filmmaker Karan Johar is the creative mentor for the film, which is about two friends.
"The movie is about two friends and how they have different ideas of romance and love and how it only takes one night to change that perception. The entire film has been treated in a slice-of-life manner, " Batra told.
"The lead characters are two lawyers who are visiting Mumbai. The entire movie takes place in a hotel. Their ideas of love and romance switch positions, " he added.
Talking about how he came on board for the project, Batra said the team had to wrap the film in two months.
" (Officials at) Chivas and Karan were talking and one day Karan told me that he was planning to do a collaboration with the brand. It would be for a short film and the next thing I knew was that he asked me to direct it for them, " he said.
"It was very exciting for me. We had two months to come up with everything. We didn't even know what we will be making at the time, " he said.
But this working under pressure has been a learning experience for the director and he plans to follow this approach in his upcoming feature film projects as well.
"I have learnt to work with deadlines. More pressure and deadlines get the best out of you. I will be giving myself a deadline for my feature films as well, " he said.
Prior to the Imran Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer "Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu", which was his directorial debut, Batra had assisted in directing "Rock On!!" and "Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na".
