What better way than to pay tribute to her late husband in her own musical voice? Kavita Seth, best known for her Sufi renditions like Iktara, Mora piya and most recently, Tumhi ho bandhu, lost her husband KK Seth to pancreatitis last year. He was 48. The singer will be dedicating her concert next month to him.
The act will take place on December 15 - the day KK passed away in 2011. And according to the classical crooner, the show will consist of an audio-visual spanning KK's career with Kavita singing to a song to mark each phase of his life.
`It is a challenge to tell the tales of my guidance in a few minutes time. He was not only my husband but also my mentor and he's the reason where I am today. He supported me throughout and it's a cruel reality that he's absent physically but I feel his presence through music,` adds Kavita.
In fact it was his inspiration that made the singer go back to work only a few days after KK's demise. Kavita states, `He wanted me to sing no matter what. It was because of him I never gave up on singing. In fact, after barely eight to 10 days of his passing away, I was back to work, performing at live shows. Just that earlier, the medium of music was an expression to me, today it's a mission of sorts.`
