Often Bollywood actors detest the stereotypical tag of being termed a character-actor. But turns out actor Prashant Narayanan is not one of them. The Kerala-born, who was last seen playing a villain in Murder 2, will be back as a baddie in his upcoming film Cigarette Ki Tarah.
Coming from a theatre background and after delivering some memorable performances in South films over the past few years, Prashant has no qualms about having to play a negative role. `When I heard the script of the film, I really liked it. Also, it was something different from the characters I have earlier played on screen. That's what matters to me.`
In fact, Prashant didn't think twice before signing the project, helmed by a debutant director and having first-time actors as part of the cast. Elaborating further on his choice of role, he says, `I play a mad cop in the film, who is in search of Nikhil Dabar (played by Bhoop Yaduvanshi) who is on the run. It is an interesting romantic thriller.`
After Cigarette Ki Tarah, Prashant has some interesting films lined up like Issaq directed by Manish Tiwary, which is an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet and another film titled Mein Nahi Anna.
Cigarette ki Tarah is directed by Akashditya Lama starring Bhoop along with Madhurima Tuli, Yuvika Choudhary Prashant Narayanan and Sudesh Berry in lead roles. Produced by PY Films, the film is slated to release on December 14.
