Sudhir Mishra got in a fracas with one of the bouncers at an event, which was organised in the city to promote his upcoming movie; speaking to MiD DAY, the filmmaker played down the incident saying, 'Such things happen once in a while'
An event organised to promote Sudhir Mishra's upcoming film Inkaar at a city mutliplex yesterday turned out to be an action-packed affair in real sense.
The film's cast - including Arjun Rampal and Chitrangada Singh - along with the director and several entertainment journalists witnessed the highhanded attitude of bouncers deployed at the venue.
As the event started about 30 minutes past the scheduled time, fans and media persons surrounded the actors and the director requesting them to speak about the film and pose for photographs.
Bullying around
This didn't go well with the bouncers, and they pushed people erratically to make way for the celebrities. However, Arjun Rampal tried to control the situation and asked the bouncers to stop pushing people, and obliged to the requests of the paparazzi.
Undeterred, the bouncers continued with their imperious behaviour following which Sudhir Mishra got into an verbal spat with one of the bouncers.
As the crew was leaving for their next destination, a bouncer pushed Mishra after which the filmmaker lost his cool and was seen getting into a scuffle with him. Later, Mishra reportedly went to the bouncer and apologised to him.
'It happens'
Speaking to MiD DAY, Mishra said, `Such incidents do happen. As there was another event scheduled to be held at the same place, they might have reacted that way. There's no need to drag the issue any further.`
While a representative of the PR firm, which was handling the event, said, `It was the multiplex's responsibility to ensure that the event took place peacefully.`
When contacted, a manager from the multiplex, on condition of anonymity, said, `It was a minor incident. It may have happened due to anxiety, as the staff had to wrap up the event in the stipulated time.`
