Speaking to a television network on the recent visa problem that has cropped up for the Pakistani senior citizens, as a result of the Indo-Pak strained relations and border skirmishes and killing and beheading of jawans, Farhan said,"It's a dicey debate."
India on Tuesday had put on hold the process of issuing visas on arrival to Pakistani senior citizens at the Attari-Wagah border joint check post.
"I feel there is a certain amount of respect that we have for people who protect our borders, and very rightfully so... and at times when situation seems a little flared up, I think a certain amount of respect should be show towards those people," he said.
"It can't be that in one hand there's soldiers firing away at each other and one the other hand everything is going around as if nothing has ever happened. I think it is a little disrespectful towards the armed forces," he added.
The filmmaker himself has portrayed the lives of the soldiers at LoC in his film 'Lakshya' in 2004 starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta.
"I think that at times like this, especially when the tension is so escalating, we should sit back and you know just focus a little more on getting the tension down first and deescalating that, and then probably move to the next level," advised Farhan.
