There is many a slip between the cup and the lip. Looks like that's exactly what's happened to Vidya Balan's sartorial style, post her recent nuptials with Siddharth Roy Kapoor. Hailed as the champion of the saree and thanks to some well-orchestrated help from design guru and friend Sabyasachi, till recently it looked as if Vid's Heyy Babyy days were a thing of the past.
Vidya Balan at Dabboo Ratnani's calendar launch Fashionistas hail the saree as the fail-safe object in a woman's wardrobe. What started for Vidya as standing out from the crowd soon made fashion statements splashed across glossies. Bolts of Sabyasachi fabric were rolled out on the red carpets and at promotional events. Vidya's big fashion moment had finally arrived.
But looks like as soon as she tied the knot with SRK, Vids has decided to take it slow and easy. But for us style watchers, some of her most hideous costumes have not gone easy on the eye. From some bizarre combination of long skirt and kurta to some blindness-inducing six yards, looks like Vidya is once again on the path of sartorial sinking.
Picture abhi baaki hai
As industry big-wigs turned up at Dabboo Ratnani's calendar launch, all eyes were on Vidya. Perhaps she could have broken the pink monotone with some prints. Her arms look like they could use some bench presses. The actress definitely looked like a far cry from her svelte image in Dabboo's almanac.
Mrs Chamko
Looks like the actress, who has been busy on her toes ever since she got married, has taken a shine (quite literally) to the Mrs Kapoor status. The new bride went for another overdose of single colour (this time resplendent) at the Colors Screen awards. She stood out like a sore thumb.

Check mate
We know Vidya is a connoisseur of the bohemian. But combining gamcha checks at a recent magazine awards gala with rich brocade could have been a risk that's backfired. With your curves, you can't take too many risks!
Colour purple!
Purple's a colour that goes with most Indian skin tones. But Vidya has gone overboard, dressing head-to-toe in the shade. With a tent-like skirt and a long kurta, what was she thinking?
That choke-collar neckpiece makes her neck appear short. The hair, a far cry from her usual sleek self, looks fried from too much abuse of hair appliances. It makes us wonder if Sabya has gone on a holiday!
While sifting through some old images, we came across this black and white picture of Mala Sinha in a similar outfit. Could Vidya have been inspired?
