Travelling to the capital of Thailand for a commercial photo shoot, I decided to make it a work-cum-pleasure trip. My friends in Thailand doubled up as my tour guides and helped me indulge in the wonderful Thai experience.
Khao San road
While walking on the streets it became literally impossible for me to control my hanger pangs.
I did not think much about my diet and just experimented with all kinds of chicken and meat specialities. They have so many different cuisines with interesting aromas. I had never eaten so much before on any of my trips.
Khao San market
I am not a shopoholic at all. But my friends warned me to get big bags before visiting this market and it was true. I have never seen such a huge market before, especially as you get all your stuff under one roof. I bought some amazing showpieces, clothes and accessories.
Now when I wear those clothes and baubles, people instantly know I have been to Bangkok and back.
Wat PHO temple
I was very tired when I reached this temple but I was excited to see it in real. I had heard so much about the shrine. The atmosphere at the temple was so calm and quiet.
The idol of sleeping Buddha was so enormous that my friend actually had to lie down on the floor to click my picture. It was an amazing spiritual experience for me.
SIAM Paragon
This is one of the biggest malls they have in Bangkok and is an absolute pleasure to visit.
I went crazy looking at the variety of brands they have there. You can actually spend the entire day in the mall itself. The food court was noteworthy.
Bike taxi ride
My friends suggested that I should go for a bike taxi ride as it is less time-consuming.
I was not too keen initially as living in Mumbai has taught me to not take traffic snarls seriously. But finally I gave in to their suggestion and it was fun. I am not a bike person at all but I really liked the experience.
