Actor-Producer Abhishek Bachchan turned 37 years of age on Tuesday.

The junior Bachchan is likely to keep his birthday celebrations low key, said reports.

The actor, who always prefers to work on his birthdays, is predictably not taking a break from shooting.

He is also not in a celebratory mood because one of his closest friends, Sikander (Kirron Kher's son), lost his biological father, Gautam Berry, a few days ago.

Born to actors Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek debuted in Bollywood with the film 'Refugee' in 2000, which won him critical acclaim, although the film failed to succeed at the box-office.

The actor had several unsuccessful films after his first venture including 'Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke' (2000), 'Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya' (2000), 'Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai' (2001), 'Om Jai Jagdish' (2002), and 'Desh' (2002).

He tasted box-office success with his performances in 'Yuva' (2004), 'Dhoom' (2004), 'Bunty Aur Babli' (2005), 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' (2006), 'Guru' (2007), 'Paa' (2009), 'Dostana' (2008), 'Sarkar' (2005) and 'Bol Bachchan' (2012).

He received the National Film Award for best feature film in Hindi for producing 'Paa'.

The junior Bachchan has also received three Filmfare Awards for acting.


The actor is married to actress and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai and is the proud father of their daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.
