When Randeep Hooda replaced Emraan Hashmi to sign the third installment of the Murder franchisee, many eyebrows were raised. But Randeep feels that comparisons with the other actor are totally uncalled for.
He says, `When I signed the film I was not even aware it was going to be the third film. I just jumped at the opportunity as soon as I came to know about it.
Emraan and I belong to different schools of acting so I don't feel people should compare us. It is unfair and I just want to say that I am not going to be on the back-foot.`
Emraan has often been tagged as the hero for the masses.
Whether he will take on the mantle from Emraan, Randeep shoots back, `I think I have already become a hero for the masses. The Bhatts have given me that status with back-to-back hits. I have done some intellectual films as well as commercially successful films. So that says it all.`
'Murder 4' story Actor Randeep Hooda, who will be seen in "Murder 3", suggested to filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt to take inspiration from the life of a reality show participant and make "Murder 4" on it.
Bhatt and Randeep were on the sets of popular TV show "Emotional Atyachaar 4", where Delhi-based girl Shelly shared how her boyfriend Kunal cheated on her by dating multiple girls.
Intrigued by Shelly's story, Randeep suggested to Bhatt to adapt it as the next sequel to "Murder".
"It is very difficult to fathom the fact that in real life an individual can cheat to such an extent! Nothing can shock you more than this, which is exactly the reason why I think Bhattji should take up this story," Randeep said on the show.
"The cases from 'Emotional Atyachaar' usually mirror the society. I believe that Shelly's real life story should be documented in reel life," he further said.
His "Murder 3", third in the "Murder" series that began in 2004, is ready to release Friday.
Randeep has teamed up with Aditi Rao Hydari and Pakistani actress Sara Loren in the film, which is the directorial debut of Vishesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt's son.
The particular episode of "Emotional Atyachaar 4" will air Saturday on Bindass.
