Actress and DMK member Khushbu, whose house was vandalised by a group of people, says she is doing "well" after the "misfortune". However, she has clearly stated she doesn't want to comment further on it.

"Dear friends, I am doing well. A misfortune has taken place and wouldn't want to comment until and unless the investigations are done. Thank you," Khushbu, who tweets under the handle @khushbusundar, posted on her page Thursday night.

Following the attack, Khushbhu's fans and friends, extended their solidarity.

In a new post Friday afternoon, she wrote: "I am emotionally moved at the support from all the sides in these trying times. I have always emerged a winner and will do so even now. Thanks."

Khushbu's house was attacked following an interview she gave to a Tamil magazine in which she repeated the party line that the general council would decide on the next leader.

The actress's views apparently enraged DMK cadres owing allegiance to M.K. Stalin, party treasurer and son of party president M. Karunanidhi.

Shouting slogans, a group of people hurled stones at the windows of the actress's house, smashing some panes and windscreen of her car. At the time of the attack, the actress was away in Tiruchirapalli (Trichy), around 350 km from here, to attend a wedding.

As the actress emerged from her hotel in Trichy, a group of people threw their footwear at her.

In her interview, Khushboo had said that Karunanidhi had proposed the name of Stalin as the next party chief. She said the party's general council would decide on the next leader.

Karunanidhi too had earlier said that who would lead the party after him would be decided by the general council.

Police suspected that DMK cadres may have been behind the attack.

Speaking to reporters in Trichy, Khushboo said she had been misquoted by the magazine.

DMK officials said the actress had tried to discuss the matter with Stalin, but could not.

The 42-year-old debuted as a child artist in the Hindi film "The Burning Train". In a career spanning over three decades, she has acted in several southern language films like "Kaliyuga Pandavulu", "Ranadheera", "Anjada Gandu", and "Yugapurusha".

As a child artist, she did Hindi films like "Laawaris", and "Dard ka Rishta" and later did "Meri Jung" as a grownup actress.
