Rani Mukerji played a tough talking journo in Rajkumar Gupta's No One Killed Jessica

The actress is once again gearing up to play a scribe in Karan Johar's upcoming film to mark the 100 years of Indian cinema.

Our sources say that KJo considers Rani his lucky charm. An informer says, `Rani will essay a journalist who gets married to Randeep Hooda's character. However this time her role is not exactly inspired from any real-life incident. She was briefed on her character nuances by Karan.`

Having played a scribe before, Rani apparently didn't have to spend too much time to prep for the role. The source adds, `She has taken some references from No One Killed Jessica. She did a lot of preparations then and in a way it is helping her now. In fact, she also learnt some mannerisms through her own experience of dealing with the media over the years.`

A spokesperson from the film's team confirms the buzz.
