"I was thrilled to see one of my favourite actors Mohanlal Sir play on field. I think he is one of the finest actors and I saw him bowl and field, " the 34-year-old said here Friday while announcing the association of his CCL team Veer Marathi with news channel Jai Maharashtra.
"It gives me immense happiness to see such stalwarts, like Venkatesh Sir from Telugu cinema or Anna Suniel Shetty, the captain of Mumbai Heroes. It is such joy to watch actors compete like true sportspersons, " he added.
Riteish has invited everyone who lives in Maharashtra and who is a Marathi at heart to support his team.
"When I talk about Veer Marathi, I am not talking only about people who are born Marathis. Everyone who lives in Maharashtra, who believes he is a Maharashtrian, we would love it if you guys come out to support us, " said the actor, whose team was introduced just this season.
The third season of CCL kicked off Feb 9 in Kochi. The final will be played March 10 in Bengaluru.
