Kirti Kulhari kind of disappeared from public glare after her much-appreciated role in Shaitan.

However, she is finally back with her upcoming zombie film. The 27-year-old actress who started her career in TV commercials sounds stoic about her future in B-Town. In a candid chat with CS, Kirti shares her thoughts on her filmi choices and more.

Mera career choice
As a kid, becoming an airhostess was my dream, thanks to a cousin who was very pretty and used to fly around the world. Since my family has a defense background, there was a point when I wanted to be in the Navy. On top of that, my dad wanted me to be a badminton player as I was really good at it. But it was in college that I got noticed and did some ad campaigns. Acting happened later.

Theatrical leanings
When I started out, I was pretty sure that I wanted to be part of feature films someday. So I had to start somewhere. As a result, I decided to go for theatre. It helped me build my art and expressions. It was a huge learning experience being on the stage, performing and assessing the crowd's reaction. I later acknowledged that cinema and theatre are both a lot of fun.

Challenges galore
As an actor, you become a part of films so that the audience can watch you. But then your role is limited. You can't influence the people who are meant to release your film. I don't have any control over when and how the film will release. All I can do is my best when the camera is rolling.

Script mantra
In all, I've done six films till date. Two of have them released and one is about to hit the theatres. Whenever they come out, you'll notice that each one of them is different from one another in terms of the character I showcase. I don't wish to be slotted into that she-can-only-do-this-role category. That's the only criteria I follow when it comes to choosing a script.

Godfather complex? No!
From day one, I've been hearing that it's better to have a godfather in the industry. You need to have somebody or else you won't reach the top. But if you ask me, I'm just moving along and trying to break the so-called godfather complex.
