While in his previous film, Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh played the role of a retro gangster, in his forthcoming movie he will be seen essaying the role of an IPS officer in the crime branch, in 'Dussehra', produced by Aparna Hoshing and directed by Manish Vatsalya.

Starring opposite to him on the big screen will be actress Tena Desae who plays the role of a senior IPS officer. This is the first time for both Neil Nitin Mukesh and Tena Desae essaying roles of cops.

Excited about his cop avataar, Neil says, `It's a very unique storyline and am thrilled to be a part of this film. Ever since I heard the story line, I have ardently been researching life of bureaucrats, to give more depth to my character in the film. I have the utmost respect for our Indian bureaucrats.

"There are some truly awe inspiring stories that go unnoticed, thanks to Manish's research these have come in handy for me to prepare for this role. Manish and Aparna have put together a great project.`

Manish Vatsalya who himself plays a pivotal role in the film apart from donning the director's hat, says: `Neil Nitin Mukesh was my first choice for this role. I have been watching his films and the offbeat path that he s been treading, I felt he could bring the character of Rudra Pratap Singh live on screen."

"Designer Mehul Thakkar and I have worked on the looks of Neil Nitin and Tena both. One will see a very different Neil in Dusshera.`

Equally excited is Tena Desae, who also plays a cop in the film.

`This will also be my first time playing the role of a cop. I play a tough lady cop in the hindi gangland and feel lucky to get an opportunity to get a meaty role in my second film itself and with Neil as my co actor. I am super excited. I am eagerly waiting for the filming to begin,` she says.
