He has just received the prestigious Deenanath Mangeshkar Memorial award, his "Waqt - The Race Against Time" has opened well and Star Plus is set to launch another run of his super-successful "Kaun Banega Crorepati" (KBC) in June.
"We're going ahead with the rehearsals of KBC. This time, the prize money has been doubled from Rs.10 million to Rs.20 million," tells Bachchan.
"This time, the show is far more interactive. Viewers at home would have far more opportunities to get into the thick of it," he promised.
Star had originally planned to launch the new series of this Indian version of the quiz show "Who Wants To Be A Millionnaire" in September 2002, eight months after it was yanked off the air.
But the show failed to take off then due to reported date problems with Big B.
Amitabh Bachchan was conferred the prestigious Deenanath Mangeshkar award - instituted in memory of the father of Lata Mangeshkar - for his contribution to films on April 24.
"Receiving the award was prestigious enough. But to receive it from the hands of the great man's great daughter was a double honour. Latabai is such a delight," Bachchan said.
He is now all set to fly to Bangkok this month for "Ek Ajnabee", a film directed by Apoorva Lakhia. His "Waqt..." released two weeks ago too has received good responses.
"It didn't really surprise me when the film got mass acceptance. It's a very heart warming family story which every father and son can identify with. I liked the film's simplicity and humour."
As for "Ek Ajnabee": "It's an out-and-out thriller based on an interactive drama between me and a child actor. Apoorva was supposed to make another film with me. But that didn't work out.
"'Ek Ajnabee' is a fast-paced quickie and I'm quite looking forward to shooting for it," he enthused.
