The two had joined hands with much fanfare with John excitedly agreeing to produce Satya 2 for Ramu who had excitedly confessed to this writer, `John heard the concept of Satya 2 through a mutual friend and he expressed interest.
When I met him and we spoke at length I was amazed at his insights into the characters when I gave him a detailed narration of Satya 2. It's purely our mutual excitement about the subject matter which is making us collaborate. `
Now two months later one hears John is out of the project apparently because he couldn't see `eye to eye` with Ramu.
Says a source close to the project, `When John heard Ramu was making a sequel to Satya he was immediately enamoured of the idea of revisiting those iconic characters from the first film. But soon John realized the Satya sequel has no connection whatsoever with the first film. That's where the differences started. The two of them decided to part ways rather than work on different pages for the same project. `
While refusing to divulge details of their parting, Ramu admitted, `John is not a part of the production. But the film has already started shooting and is about 30% complete. Satya 2 is slated for an early June release. `
Directing SRK is on John's wish list
John Abraham turned producer with "Vicky Donor". He admits direction is also a part of his plan, and he would especially love to direct superstar Shah Rukh Khan some day
"Not soon, but yes, definitely I will (direct). How do I put it... I think I will do a fairly decent job directing because I feel I have a vision and I would like to get that across," the 40-year-old said here in an interview.
"An interesting person to direct... I would love to direct Shah Rukh! (He is) very interesting because there is a side and a facet about him that is very charismatic and I would not like to play on his strengths, but I would like to get something else out," added John.
Other actors he finds interesting to direct are: "Aamir (Khan) directs himself, so that's interesting about Aamir. Each one is different and probably if I am doing a fun film, may be Akshay Kumar. But I am not thinking about it right now, so it's completely hypothetical. I may (also) direct newcomers."
John's latest release is "I, Me aur Main", which opened to an average response this Friday.
