Kick is an upcoming Bollywood comedy action thriller which is scheduled to start filming from June 1. It stars Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone along with Randeep Hooda in a supporting role and is still in its pre-production stage.
It is to be directed and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
In October last it was announced that best-selling author Chetan Bhagat would be the screenwriter of Kick, and Rajat Arora would write the dialogues.
However it looks like the 'Dabangg' Khan is not very happy with the script so far and may be looking at alternatives.
Reports state that Chetan went to meet Salman along with Sajid to fill him in on the progress of the script. Salman, after reading it felt that it did not match up to its Telegu predecessor and needed a dose of commercial masala.
Even as rumours suggest that Chetan has not taken any offence with the actor's demand, the author himself completely denies ever meeting the actor.
He goes on to add that that the script isn't complete yet and the only people he has had any interactions with are Sajid Nadiadwala and his team.
But it does seem as if the author with a penchant of putting off the Khans may now have to clip his screenwriter wings, if he wants to keep his highly hyped Bollywood debut.
I haven't even met Salman on Kick! - Chetan Bhagat protests against reports suggesting Salman's intervention
Kick is a very special step-forward for producer Sajid Nadiadwala and writer Chetan Bhagat. While the former turns director with Kick, the latter attempts screen-writing for the first time.
With the shooting around the corner-Nadiadwala starts shooting for Kick from June 1-various components of this posh actioner have begun to fall in place. The script which needs to make a noted departure from the original 2009 Telugu film is work under progress.
Now comes a report claiming that Salman has `rejected` the script as written by Chetan Bhagat.
The rumour has left Chetan baffled. `I haven't even met Salman at all on Kick! The script is not done yet. I am working with only Sajid Nadiadwala and his team on the script. `
Clamming up after this, Chetan said it was best if Sajid Nadiadwaka clarified the issue.
A source close to the project divulged that on this occasion Salman is in a completely non-interfering mode. `He is maintaining a hands-free attitude to Kick.
It is true that nowadays Salman approves of every department in his starrer from script to director to cameraman to co-star before a project takes off. But Kick is entirely his buddy Sajid Nadiadwala's baby and Salman is treating it that way. He has very clearly told Sajid, 'Jo karna hai kar. I am with you. `
