Several actors in the past have moved from being in front of the camera to sitting in the director's chair. With a career spanning over 25 years Renuka Shahane, who has been conspicuous by her absence in B-Town, is thrilled to be directing her debut Bollywood film soon.
Interestingly, Renuka made her directorial debut with the Marathi film Rita back in 2009. It was adapted from her mother Shanta Gokhale's novel Rita Welingkar and even showcased at Munich Film Festival. Her forthcoming Hindi film is untitled as of now and is being written by Girish Joshi with Paresh Rawal in a prominent role.

`Due to confidentiality clauses, I can't disclose the details of this venture. However I can confirm that Pareshji is part of it and I'm hoping the project hits the floor this year, ` says Renuka. On whether she would cast her husband-actor Ashutosh Rana in the film, the 47-year-old mentions a script that she's writing exclusively for him.
`I would have loved to have him in my film but producer Shabbir Boxwala came to me with Paresh Rawal's name. I'm already working on an ambitious script and nobody else but my husband will do justice to it, ` reveals the writer-filmmaker.
