Manoj Bajpayee asked director Suparn Verma to give the role of the cop to Jaideep Ahlawat for his upcoming film

In a bid for one-upmanship, stars are known to eye meaty roles with hawk eyes. However, Manoj Bajpayee did something quite different by asking director Suparn Verma who had offered him the role of a cop to give it to actor Jaideep Ahlawat instead. Jaideep had played Manoj's father in Gangs of Wasseypur.

A source says, `The role was that of a cop in Suparn's upcoming Bipasha Basu starrer. Manoj and Suparn have known each other for a while now and the actor thought Jaideep suited the role.` Initially Manoj had given his nod.
