Expanding his presence in the ad space, megastar Amitabh Bachchan has signed on as the brand ambassador of biscuit company - Parle's Gold Star cookies. The actor is thrilled.

"I am thrilled to begin a new journey with Parle's Gold Star cookies and take the brand legacy ahead," Amitabh said in a statement.

An extensive marketing campaign is being planned with Big B for the recently launched cookies, which are the company's latest offering in the premium cookie category.

"It gives me an immense pleasure to be associated with the most iconic biscuit company of India, Parle Products. From last 70 years, we all have grown up eating Parle's biscuits and it has always been the most loved brand in the country amongst all age groups," added the 70-year-old.

Amitabh has been zeroed on in as he is in sync with the brand's positioning of class, rich quality, and outstanding achievement, read the statement.

"He (Amitabh) embodies an exemplary blend of both style and performance, making him the ideal choice to endorse our products. The goodwill and reputation he has built over the last three decades compliments our own," said Shalin Desai, group product manager, Parle Products.

The cookies will be available in four variants - butter, cashew butter, chocolate chip and chocolate and nut.
