With the director-producer duo of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria busy with their film starring Rekha, their other project -- a sequel to their 2004 comic caper Masti -- remains unfinished.
The comedy was scheduled to release in April but when Indra Kumar realised that the climax was not too funny, he decided to reshoot it. The film, which features the original actors of the first part -- Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani, had a long shoot schedule in Vadodara last year.
Says a source, `When the makers managed to get Rekha on board for their other project, they decided to go on the floors even though the sequel's shoot was not over.`
Along with Rekha, the film has Sharman Joshi and Indra Kumar's daughter Shweta (who featured in the Himesh Reshammiya-starrer dud Karzz) taking her second shot at B-Town.
Adds the source, `The makers are focussing on the Rekha starrer. There is a plan to hold a schedule of their sequel but as of now, it has not been ascertained nor the cast informed.`
