Shruti Hassan has just turned down an offer to act with her father, the legendary Kamal Haasan

Incidentally, the makers of the film were quite keen to cast her but Shruti has ruled that out.

Apparently the reason why she does not want to star alongside her parents anytime soon is because she wants to avoid unnecessary comparisons.

Says Shruti, `I want to stay away from films with my father. I have his surname and the lineage but at the moment I want to do things on my own.

I might have not done everything right and have my share of mistakes as well, but they are my own. Though it would be an honour to work alongside my father, at the moment I will let this opportunity pass.`

The actress wants to further her Bollywood career on her own terms and adds, `I want to find my own path. I don't want to attract comparisons with them right now.`
