Actress Divya Dutta, who will soon be seen in Karan Johar's production "Gippi", says this is her first film with the filmmaker and she loved doing it.

"I loved doing the film. I got a beautiful compliment from Karan when he called me up and said he loved my performance," the actress said here Thursday on the sets of TV show "Wah Wah Kya Baat Hai".

"Yesterday (Wednesday), I was watching a film and the promo of 'Gippi' came. It is lovely to see your name and face with the Dharma Production tag," she said.

"I got this feeling after working with Yash Chopra, Shyam Benegal, Rakeysh (Omprakash) Mehra. So it's great to work with such people who you have always admired," Divya added.

The 35-year-old also praised debutant director Sonam Nair.

"'Gippi' is my first film with Karan Johar and a new girl Sonal is directing it. She has taken a leaf out of her own life. She has shown the growing up years very beautifully," she said.

The actress, known for award winning roles in "Veer-Zaara" and "Delhi 6", plays the lead's mother in "Gippi" and says she took a few tips from her own mother.

"I have a lovely role. I have learned from my mother for the role and what she does with me, I have done with 'Gippi' in the film," Divya said.

Recently seen in "Special 26" and "Zila Ghaziabad", Divya has some interesting films lined up for release this year.

"This year is fulfilling some of my dreams as I am getting to work with those people I have always wanted. I have some films with some great filmmakers this year," said Divya, who will be seen in "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" and "Lootera".
