Her opening shot at the jam-packed press conference: "Jackie is the biggest star in Asia so he deserves the best and he has got it."
The smiles broke out as the presswallhas from far-flung countries understood Mallika's real motive behind her modest statement.
Fully loaded in exquisitely embroidered low-cut dress worth Rs 48,500 and jewels worth Rs 75 lakh, Mallika held her own in front of legendary Chan, who was focus of attention at the news conference.
As always, Mallika was well aware of her assets and revealed them to the West with the equal finesse, though her name placard, placed strategically in front of her, hid the view to the scribes.
She began by graciously saying: "I would like to thank Jackie Chan and Stanley Tong for giving me this opportunity to star in this film. It's a very big break for me. Bollywood will always be very important because that's my bread and butter. But the whole world is becoming global now."
Though her co-actress, Kim Hee Seon, a Korean, was also present at the podium but she had to play second fiddle because of her inability to converse in English.
Mallika on the other hand, did her best for Indian womanhood by attempting to portray the bold and the brassy image to the world.
We hope Ash is also watching the entire event for some pointers.
