And with good reason. Motwane is not allowed to take a single day off from the editing, and post-production of his directorial venture Lootera.
Says a source close to the project, `Vikramaditya was really keen to make it to Cannes this year with his colleagues. But the post-production work of Lootera which is being done on a war footing couldn't be abandoned for even a day. `
Lootera is being readied for release on 5 July. And the film's producers Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bhel took a conscious decision to leave Motwane behind.
Apparently Lootera would get a very low-key marketing and publicity.
Says a source close to the project, `There is no truth to stories that Ranveer Singh's whiskered look for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela and Yashraj Films' Gunday is coming in the way of promoting the film. Because in any case Lootera won't go for a blitzkrieg of publicity. It isn't that kind of a film at all. `
Says producer Vikas Behl, `Unfortunately Vikramaditya couldn't accompany us to Cannes because we need to get the post- production of Lootera done on time. Regarding the publicity, it's got to be really low-key. `
