They came, they jiggled their unmentionalables, yet they failed to conquer their space in Bollywood. With more and more mainstream actresses opting to shake their booty to item numbers in Hindi film, looks like some of our popular item girls have simply vamoosed into thin air.
Mallika Haydon
Sister of Indo-Australian model Lisa Haydon, Mallika made her debut with a bang in the Pyaar Ki Pungi song opposite Saif Ali Khan in Agent Vinod. It became a thumping chartbuster apart from another item song she did for the same film. She soon grabbed headlines for allegedly dating Shahid Kapoor but has since then been missing in action.
Scarlett Mellish Wilson
Making her debut in Dibakar Banerjee's Shanghai, British model Scarlett created quite a rage gyrating to Imported Kamriya in the film. So much so that even the director had words of praise for the leggy girl. The 25- year-old model, who has also acted in some commercials before, vanished completely post her Shanghai stint.
Nathalia Kaur
Word about Ram Gopal Varma's new found muse and item girl Nathalia Kaur spread like wild fire even before the girl could actually make her big screen debut.
Known as Nathalia Pinherio before starting her career in India, RGV not only changed her name but also offered her a South project. Post her song Dan dan, the two parted ways and she is currently said to be working in other South films. She also had a special appearance in Vipul Shah's Commando.
Hazel Keech
Also known as Rose Dawn, Hazel had done South films before getting a seemingly perfect Bollywood debut in Kareena Kapoor-Salman Khan's Bodyguard.
She immediately got noticed and then set the screen on fire with the item number Aa Ante in Sonu Sood starrer Maximum. She was regularly photographed at Bollywood events after that but it failed to bring another Hindi film to her kitty.
Madhuri Bhattacharya
After doing Kannada films and other B-grade projects, Madhuri found herself under the spotlight shaking a leg with Dharmendra and Bobby Deol in Tinku Jiya in Yamla Pagla Deewana. The song became a hit but failed to take her Bollywood career ahead.
