Looks like it's the case of much ado about just a watch! One year after frantically trying to take an oil brand to task, over an apparently fake watch, Akashdeep Saigal aka Skywalker has decided to lodge a formal complaint in the police commissioner's office.
According to the television actor, he was invited to attend a promotional event for the oil brand in April 2012. For his 'kind gesture' he was apparently presented with a ladies watch, which to Akashdeep's great dismay turned out to be an inexpensive imitation of a leading brand of watches.
Says the actor, `Initially, I gave the watch to Pooja (Bedi) as it was a woman's watch. Later, after realising it was a fake piece, I returned it and the PR for the event even apologised to me and replaced it with another.`
And lo and behold! That apparently turned out to be a fake too, after Akashdeep went to a Juhu watch store to have its authenticity certified. He claims to have sent a legal notice to the company that apparently went unanswered.
In response
The spokesperson of the oil brand, Kusha Bhatia vehemently denies any knowledge of Sky sending a legal notice. She states, `We did not promise them branded watches. I don't think the second watch was a fake.`
