She did not start her acting career with Shekhar Kapur's 'Bandit Queen', but Dolly Ahluwalia gets nostalgic with the very mention of the film as it helped her win her first National Award

Before trying her luck in acting, Ahluwalia was a successful costume designer. 'Bandit Queen', a biopic on dacoit-turned- politician Phoolan Devi, was her first project as a costume designer.

After winning her second National Award for Best Supporting Actress in 'Vicky Donor', Ahluwalia has turned to her first passion by designing for Farhan Akhtar starrer 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag'.

"Shekhar Kapur and Manoj Bajpayee you both make me feel nostalgic when you mention 'Bandit Queen'. It's my root as Costume Designer," she posted on Twitter.

Manoj Bajpayee also shared his memories of working on the biopic. His break-out performance "Shekhar Kapur yes memories will always be there till the last day. Don't loose your instinct in search of a perfect craft," he added.
