After spending 21 days behind bars in the actress Jiah Khan suicide case, Aditya Pancholi's son was released from jail

Aspiring actor Sooraj Pancholi was released from Arthur Road Jail yesterday, having been granted bail against a surety of Rs 50,000. The court directed him to surrender his passport and appear before the Juhu police every alternate day.

His father Aditya Pancholi, who was recently embroiled in a scuffle with lensmen, braved the media presence to steer his son to freedom.

Sooraj Pancholi, son of an actor couple, was arrested three weeks ago on charges of abetting Jiah Khan's suicide.


Granting relief to Sooraj, the HC had observed that the 22-year-old aspiring actor can't be held solely responsible for the "impulsive" act of his actress-girlfriend.

"No doubt it was unfortunate that a young girl has committed suicide. She (Jiah) must have been impulsive and he (Suraj) cannot be held solely responsible for it," Justice Sadhna Jadhav had observed.
