Shilpa Shirodkar, who has been trying to make a comeback in Bollywood, seems to have instead decided to start her second innings on the small screen. The '90s actress, who featured in films like Kishen Kanhaiya and Mrityudand, will apparently feature in a television soap.
Says a source, `She has been approached by Tony and Deeya Singh's production house who are best remembered for their show Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin. They are planning a soap with her and the story will revolve around her. It's a challenging role and the rest of the cast is also being ascertained.`
Adds the source, `Things are under wraps for now and the makers will make an announcement once things are finalised. People associated with the show have been told to be tightlipped about it.`
After Shilpa's marriage in 2000 to banker Apresh Ranjit, she had quit Bollywood and moved abroad. The couple has a daughter Anushka.
A few years ago, Shilpa relocated to Mumbai and along with sister Namrata had turned television producers for a kid's dance show on a Marathi channel. Shilpa had also featured in a reality show for a Marathi channel in which celebrities traded their lives with a common man for a day.
