Though Mahesh Manjrekar has acted in several Marathi plays and films before Sanjay Gupta`s Kaante is Mahesh`s first ever attempt to act in a Hindi film. But apart from facing the camera that takes up most of his time in Los Angeles, which is the official venue of the shooting, Manjrekar is busy penning the script of his sequel to Vaastav.

As soon as he finishes, sheets of the story are faxed to his assistant in Mumbai who immediately gets the dialogues ready. Now that is called jhat story and pat dialogues for Mahesh`s brands of fatafat films!
