Director Priyadarshan is planning to deviate from his famous comedy formula in his next film "Kyunki", which will be an intense love story starring Shahid Kapur, Kareena
Kapoor and Isha Sharwani.
Kareena plays a blind woman in love with Shahid who is supposed to be dead.
The film, being produced by UTV, is said to be a conscious attempt by Priyadarshan to return to the emotional genre of films such as "Virasat" and "Gardish" that he was
once known for.
The director is planning to start shooting in October.
Before that he has another film lined up with Riteish Deshmukh, Paresh Rawal and Om Puri and produced by Suresh and Asha Menon. This tells the story of poor villagers
trying to encash a lottery ticket belonging to a man that dies of shock after knowing he has won a bonanza.
There is also talk about a Shah Rukh Khan starrer to be produced by Venus. However discussions on the project are still in progress - while Shah Rukh is keen on doing a
comedy, Priyadarshan is looking at something serious.
Currently, Priyadarshan is busy trying to wrap up "Garam Masala" for Venus, which is a comedy about youngsters who indulge in two-timing and get caught. The film may
probably be the last in the comedy genre for Priyadarshan.
