Having acted in two movies down South, the newbie has been signed up for three more. Rakul will now be seen in the remake of the Telugu bumper hit Ala Modalaindi, being shot at breakneck speed. Here she stars opposite Gautam Karthik of Mani Ratnam's Kadal fame.
Following this is Aadi's next titled Rough and then a yet untitled flick with Sundeep Kishan (of Shor In The City fame) being produced by Anandi Arts.
Rakul is set to enter Bollywood with Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of T-Series' head honcho Bhushan Kumar's wife Divya Kumar, where she will be seen playing the role of a nerd; one who is very good with numbers.
Coming from a family background of the Indian Army, Rakul won various titles in the Miss India pageant of 2011.
She bagged Miss India People's Choice, Miss Beautiful Eyes, Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Fresh Face, Miss Talented and emerged the third runner-up finalist. Soon after, she participated in Miss Tourism in China and rose to the sixth position in the international pageant.
