The 40-year-old singer is currently shooting for the film, which is directed by Sunil Agnihotri and also stars singer Mika Singh. "I am excited about acting in a movie. The title is 'Balwinder Singh Famous Hogaya', it is a light comedy.
Acting has always been on my mind and I always wanted to give it a shot," Shaan told. The 'Tanha Dil' hitmaker is currently busy with dance reality show 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 6' on Colors and is being touted as one of the strong contenders.
"The idea of doing this show was to try something new but at the same time not become a laughing stock. I was open to dancing and wanted to groove a little but I never thought I will be competing with professional dancers. It is a difficult job because some of them are professional dancers," he added. Shaan admits the show is taking a toll on his family life and he is guilty of not spending enough time with his two children.
"Family life has taken a back seat. I used to always take my kids out during their summer break but this time we didn't go anywhere. So I feel very guilty about it. But they are very supportive and more than thrilled to see me perform on TV," he added.
Shaan says experimenting with dancing and acting was a conscious decision as he did not want to wait for phone calls for work. "By now, I have done my work as a singer, earned my respect and now to go on waiting for a phone call for next project is not my thing. I would rather be a little pro active and do things that I always wanted to do.
