Vidhu Vinod Chopra's debut in Hollywood a remake of 'Parinda'?

A few years ago, Vidhu Vinod Chopra made news when he announced his debut Hollywood film

Buzz around the project gained momentum when rumours about actor Mickey Rourke joining the cast began to do the rounds, which later turned out to be incorrect.

While the film starring Vincent D'onofrio has now been wrapped up, we hear that it could be an adaptation from the filmmaker's earlier release Parinda.

Insiders say the upcoming Broken Horses has a start resemblance with his 1989 film that starred Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit.

Our source says, `Parinda was also a gangster film, where of the two brothers, one takes to crime to be able to provide a good life to his sibling.

And just like in the earlier film, the younger brother too joins the gang years later. But it's a fresh screenplay with new characters.` The buzz is however denied by an official from the production house who stated, `It is untrue. It's a fresh story.`
