"Formal education is very important. You should know what you are getting into," said Ranveer Thursday on the sidelines of a master class at filmmaker Subhash Ghai's film institute Whistling Woods. He mentored them with director Vikramaditya Motwane, who directed him in "Lootera".
"The biggest learning comes from experience...No greater teacher than experience. Education arms you well to work with technical knowledge and I think a solid education goes a long way," added the 28-year-old.
Talking about himself, he said: "I was a failure in math, a complete dud. I failed in math in every single class since third standard onwards."
He was more inclined towards screenwriting and acting and added: "In these type of classes, in which I had a genuine interest, I used to do very well. I topped my film class when I was studying in the Indiana University. But in other stuff like math, science, and accounts, I was a complete failure."
Ranveer will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Ram Leela" with Deepika Padukone.
