Bollywood calling
Acting happened by chance. In college, I started working as a VJ with a channel. I had fun in the four and a half years that I spent there besides getting tremendous exposure to world music as well as meeting people.
But having grown up watching films, I wanted to get into it. My friends also felt I was cut out to be an actor, though I would laugh it off. I had auditioned for London Dreams and as luck would have it, I got selected alongside stars like Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn.
Though I have not gone to an acting school, I want to join a short term course now to learn its finer nuances. Also, I need to learn dancing as Vipul sir (director Vipul Shah of London Dreams) felt I needed to learn dancing.
The big transition
Of course, I wanted to play the lead role. So when I was offered Aashiqui 2, I grabbed it because I loved its script. Presently, I am doing Habib Faisal's film with Parineeti Chopra. It is fun working with them and of course a new challenge for me. I am looking forward to doing lots of comedy and action films as well.
Family first
It feels good to be part of a filmy family. Whenever I need advice about a film, I talk to my brothers (producer Siddharth Roy Kapur and actor Kunal Roy Kapoor) and my sister-in-law Vidya Balan. When we are at home, we often sit and talk aboutfilms.
Fitness freak
I am into sports since my school days, I played cricket and football. Even now, whenever time permits, I play football. Besides that, I am working out regularly to get a good physique. I am hoping to have a good body in the coming days.
Ready to mingle
I am very much single and of course ready to mingle. But for that you need to have the right kind of person whom you are able to love, trust and have fun with too. Everything happens at the right time, and love will happen to me too when the right person comes into my life.
