SRK and the makers of Akshay Kumar's film will be holding their respective Iftar parties at the same time today

If initially announcing their release dates to fall on the same day wasn't enough, the makers of SRK-Deepika Padukone's upcoming film and the producers of Akshay Kumar's upcoming gangster movie have lined up their Iftar party celebrations for the same date too.

While Milan Luthria and his star cast have invited their friends and the entire crew for their bash today evening, Shah Rukh has extended an invite to the media for a get-together at his Bandra residence, Mannat.


An insider says, `SRK and producer Ekta Kapoor may have averted a clash at the box office but it looks like they are not ready to give up on the competition too soon.

They have arranged their respective Iftar bashes to promote their films on the same day and almost at the same time. This situation has put people in a tight spot as they now have to rush from Ekta's party at Andheri to Bandra. `

We also heard Milan and his team are planning to launch a special song on Eid to kick start a new promotional campaign for their film.

Says a unit hand, `Our party was planned well in advance since all the three lead actors of the film have to begin promotional city tours throughout the country this week. They won't be available in Mumbai on Eid. `


On his part, SRK announced his plans to party last month as reported in 'Party time at Mannat'. Shah Rukh was initially supposed to host his bash on Eid to celebrate the release of his film with Rohit Shetty.

However, due to his hectic promotional schedule, the star pushed the celebrations ahead to today. SRK's official spokesperson confirmed that the star's party will kick off today evening.
