Asked about his favourite actor, Abhishek said: "For me, as a fan and as an actor, it's going to Amitabh Bachchan.
But honestly speaking, having been an actor for 13 years now, I know what it takes to stand in front of a camera and give a shot.
"I really think anybody who manages to perform in front of the camera with all the pressure is a great actor."
Abhishek spoke here Wednesday at the unveiling of the Mandate magazine cover featuring him and Big B in the same frame.
The 37-year-old says his father's films have always inspired him, and his dedication is commendable.
"All his films have inspired me since I was a kid... since 'Saat Hindustani' to now. I feel the best thing about him is whether the film works or not, his work is always good and his dedication is great," he said.
"I can't think of a film where someone didn't like his work. We just try and be as good as him," added the proud son.
Nevertheless, he believes his profession needs guts - so whether one is a newcomer or a veteran, everyone is a good actor.
"Any actor, be it in their first film or whether they have done 100 films, from Yusuf saab (Dilip Kumar) to a newcomer, I think they are all great actors. It takes a lot of guts to do what we do and it is difficult," he said.
Abhishek is currently shooting for "Dhoom 3" and also has Karan Johar's production "Dostana 2" and Farah Khan's directorial "Happy New Year" in his kitty.
