"Parineeta" has debuted at number eight on the British charts in its very first week, receiving a phenomenal
response across the world.
The British collection estimates are 115,000 pounds, bringing the US and British total to over $410,000. The
film has been produced under the banner of Vinod Chopra Films and directed by Pradeep Sarkar.
Inspired by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's poetic novel, it was released worldwide June 10 with its premiere
held in Amsterdam at IIFA.
"Parineeta" has received rave reviews especially for its sensitive performances by the lead cast, including a
sensational debut by Vidya Balan, who along with Saif Ali Khan steals the show.
