Veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to the Lilavati hospital in Bandra (W) last evening after suffering a heart attack

`He is aging and has suffered a heart attack of the inferior wall,` said a source from the hospital.

He has been kept under observation in the Intensive Care Unit and is under the care of cardiologist Dr Nitin Gokhale. Kumar was brought to the hospital at around 8.30 pm.

`He was feeling uncomfortable in the evening, so we got him to Lilavati hospital. Now his routine check-up is going on. We will be able to talk only tomorrow morning, but he is fine,` the actor's manager said.

`He is not on ventilator and is conscious and also well-oriented,` said a hospital source.

Dr Narendra Trivedi, COO of Lilavati Hospital, said, `He was brought to the hospital at 9pm. He had breathing problems and he has been admitted in the ICU. He is under the care of cardiologists. However, there is no cause of concern, he is absolutely stable and has been kept in the ICU just for observation.`
