Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, 'Ram Leela' is said to be an adaptation of Shakespearean epic 'Romeo and Juliet' set in violent times.
"I believe Deepika and I were destined to do this film. It is a love story like Romeo and Juliet and it forms the core of the film. I think chemistry is the driving force of the film. I hope it works," Ranveer told reporters here this evening.
The romantic drama, with Ranveer and Deepika in leading roles, is set for a November release. The 28-year-old actor said he had put in a lot of effort into the film, which he described as his "most special till date".
"I have given a lot for this film... worked really hard. I am thrilled to be doing a film with Sanjay Bhansali," he said. The 'Band Baaja Baaraat' star has been romantically linked with most of his female co-stars, including Anushka Sharma and Sonakshi Sinha.
And, now, Deepika is the latest on that list. Quizzed about it, Ranveer said such reports did not affect him or draw his attention. When asked if the two (Ranveer and Deepika, who was accompanying him at the event) were dating, both evaded a direct reply.
