The actor wanted to be present Hansal Mehta's upcoming film but had to pull out due to prior commitments

If only wishes were horses. Sources say Salman Khan apparently wanted to pick up the mantle of the presenter for Hansal Mehta's Shahid. But date issues forced the star to change his plans.

Sources say the star saw the film a few days ago and loved it. He wanted to step in as presenter but due to the packed schedule for his next film, Azaad, he had to back out. Salman had also presented Chillar Party.

A source says, `Salman saw the film with some of his friends and family members including his father Salim Khan. Both Salimsaab and Salmanbhai loved it so much that they wanted to get involved. The actor wanted to be involved with the doings of the film's marketing team.`

The team apparently came up with a 10-day plan but Salman had no option but to let go. Salman and the officials from the presenting team remained unavailable for comment.
