Rumours are that Kajol has not been invited for the late Yash Chopra's upcoming birthday bash

While the rest of Bollywood is gearing up to celebrate Yash Chopra's birthday on September 27, the grapevine is buzzing with rumours that YRF's once-favourite leading lady Kajol may be missing from the bash. Insiders say Kajol has not received an invite to the grand gala and may skip the event altogether.


Though Yash Chopra never directed Kajol in any of his films, the actress has been part of several projects under the auteur's banner. A source says, `Kajol too was supposed to attend this event where nine of Chopra's heroines will take to the ramp. But she has not received any formal invite to the bash and may not appear for the show at all.

Insiders say the reason behind meting out this step-motherly treatment towards the banner's once-favourite actress is the fall-out her husband, Ajay Devgn had with Yash Raj Films after their films clashed at the box office last Diwali.


A source says, `The case between the two parties is still on and Ajay who claimed that his film received lesser screens because of YRF's policy, is still waiting for the judgment.`

Incidentally, while almost all the actresses to walk the ramp have been directed by the late Chopra before, Parineeti Chopra's name to have emerged indicates that she could have replaced Kajol. Kajol as well as the official spokesperson of the production house remained unavailable for comment.
