Bollywood star Chandan Roy Sanyal, 31 is single and ready to mingle. He is right now busy shooting a comedy titled Mango directed by Abbas Tyrewala. We caught up with him to chat. It is a Santabanta EXCLUSIVE!

SantaBanta: Why is your movie Prague not being adequately publicized?
Chandan: We had problems with finances. I agree we could not give it adequate pre-launch publicity, but that was our helplessness.

SantaBanta: What about the plot of the movie?
Chandan: It is a love story. The hero, that is me, goes to Prague to study and falls in love with a native. The relationship passes through lot of difficulties. It is a mind boggling love story.

SantaBanta: Which was your first movie?
Chandan: I acted in Kaminey in 2009 and received best new comer`s award.

SantaBanta: In which other movies you have worked, worth remembering?
Chandan: I played the lead role in Subhash Ghai`s Kaanchi.


SantaBanata: Would you share Kaanchi`s storyline with us?
Chandan: Sure. It is a Subhash Ghai production. It is about a village girl Mishty, who comes to the city and the hero, Rattan Lal Babula, which is me, falls in love with her. The hero tries to help the girl to settle down in the city. That is how the story progresses.

SantaBanta: When is Kaanchi going to be released?
Chandan: In all probability this coming December.

SantaBanta: How has been your Bollywood experience?
Chandan: It is difficult place to survive especially without a Godfather. I have been here for the last 8-9 years and am still struggling.


SantaBanta: who have been your favourite actors?
Chandan: Kamal Hassan and Bikram Chakraborty.

SantaBanta: Aren`t you missing on female favourits?
Chandan: I have none right now. I liked Samita Patil but she is no more.

SantaBanta: Are you in love with someone in the industry?
Chandan: I am purely single. Had couple of affairs but did not succeed. One of my ex is married in Bangolore. Let`s not talk about heart-breaks.

SantaBanta: OK. But you must be yearning to fall in love at 31?
Chandan: I am but the right type of female is nowhere to be found as of now.

SantaBanta: As a bachelor how do you start your day with?
Chandan: Morning begins with newspapers and a cup of tea which I make for myself at my Juhu flat.
